Welcome to the Wessex Gallery website.

Wessex Gallery have over 10 years experience dealing in art and antiques.  We commenced trading exclusively via the Internet in June 2004.  Since then we have established a truly international client base dealing with valued clients around the globe.

We specialise in the supply of traditional oil paintings and watercolour paintings by European and Australian artists and normally have in stock a diverse range of paintings by 19th and 20th Century and contemporary artists. We also stock a limited range of quality items of antique furniture and fine art including Georgian and Sheraton Revival, and a diverse range of collectables including Moorcroft, Royal Worcester, Royal Doulton and antique clocks.

We take pride in maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and integrity.

Viewing of items can be arranged for local clients (Melbourne) by appointment or items can be brought to your home for private viewing. For interstate and international clients, we can supply photographs and a detailed description and condition report for any stock item.

To view images of a selection of our current stock, visit our gallery pages which are updated regularly. Please visit our website frequently as we regularly list new stock. New listings include works by James Lawrence Isherwood, Evan Mackley and Brent Shegog.

We are currently listing a significant amount of new stock so please keep checking our site regularly.

We really enjoy communicating with our clients and welcome your enquiries, so if you have any questions about our stock, require assistance in sourcing paintings or antiques, or have feedback on ways we can improve our services, please email or give us a call.

Regards,

Martin & Celia

Additional services:

Restoration, Conservation and Gilding
It is important to conserve the condition of a work of art to retain its value for future generations. At Wessex Gallery we have the experience to advise on all aspects of restoration and conservation.

Over time oil paintings collect dust, dirt, can become discoloured and may even be accidentally damaged. The condition of paintings can be dramatically enhanced with sympathetic cleaning and restoration, including patching, relining or retouching. Similarly, watercolours and other works on paper often require removal of foxing, discoloration and staining as well as reframing using specialist conservation materials.

Frames also suffer over the years with structural damage and discolouration to gilding. Wessex Gallery can provide expert craftsmen to repair and regild these heirlooms.

Please contact us for a free assessment on cleaning or restoration of a painting or frame.

Art for Offices
Many companies are now recognising the importance of art in providing a good impression to visitors and in improving the working environment for employees.  In response to this, we offer a service sourcing and framing artworks to compliment interiors. Our gallery houses an extensive selection of originals and we have access to an enormous stock from our suppliers. Please contact us for further details.
